DPP: Reduction in the incidence of type 2 diabetes with lifestyle intervention or metformin. The Diabetes Prevention Program

• Patients with prediabetes should be prescribed 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity exercise with the aim of targeting 7% weight loss.

• Patients with prediabetes and additional risk factors such as BMI 35kg/m2, history of gestational diabetes, and age <60, metformin should be considered. (ADA 2018 guidelines).
