KEEPS Study : Arterial imaging outcomes and cardiovascular risk factors in recently menopausal women: a randomized trial

• In contrast to observational data, early initiation of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) did not affect the progression of atherosclerosis.
• A major limitation of this study is its lack of generalizability (white women and low CVD risk factors at baseline)
• In recently menopausal women, a short course of MHT does not increase or decrease atherosclerosis progression. (Menopause Society)
