Clomiphene, metformin, or both for infertility in the polycystic ovary syndrome

Clomiphene in combination with metformin does not improve live birth rates in women with PCOS, when compared to clomiphene alone.

Clomiphene citrate or comparable estrogen modulator (letrozole) is recommended as first-line treatment of anovulatory infertility in women with PCOS (Endocrine Society and ASRM)
